Leidos is seeking Project Managers to support the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Office of Defense Programs, in executing the Nation’s nuclear deterrence mission. These positions provide program management, integration, and advisory support to Federal Program Management leadership responsible for nuclear weapons modernization and sustainment efforts within the Nuclear Security Enterprise. Selected candidates will serve as key partners to Federal leadership, supporting program execution, Department of Defense (DoD) integration, logistics coordination, and lifecycle management activities associated with nuclear weapon systems. Depending on mission alignment and experience, candidates may support one or more modernization or sustainment portfolios within Defense Programs. This role requires experience working within the Department of Energy (DOE), NNSA, DoD, national security laboratories, or nuclear production environments, as well as the ability to operate effectively in a high-visibility federal setting.

This is a full-time contractor support position located on-site at NNSA offices in Albuquerque, NM. Level and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide project management and integration support to Federal Program Management leadership overseeing nuclear weapons modernization and sustainment activities.
  • Coordinate and assess activities supporting the design, development, qualification, production, and sustainment of nuclear and non-nuclear components.
  • Advise Federal leadership on program planning, execution strategies, risk management, and policy implementation.
  • Monitor technical, cost, and schedule performance across geographically dispersed NNSA national security laboratories, production facilities, and DoD stakeholders.
  • Facilitate collaboration and serve as liaison among NNSA, DoD, defense contractors, design agencies, and production agencies.
  • Support DOE product realization processes and participate in DoD working groups to ensure alignment of acquisition and sustainment efforts.
  • Identify cross-program impacts and provide recommendations to mitigate risks affecting Defense Programs initiatives.
  • Communicate technical risks, certification considerations, and schedule impacts to federal and military leadership.
  • Evaluate program performance metrics and provide assessments regarding technical maturity, quality standards, milestone execution, and customer requirements.
  • Support Air Force Nuclear Certification activities, including familiarity with certification processes for DoD-designed equipment, software, and facilities.
  • Travel as required to national security laboratories, production facilities, and DoD locations to support program execution and stakeholder coordination.

Requirements:

  • Active DOE Q clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Program Management, Business, or related discipline.
  • Experience supporting nuclear weapons programs within DOE/NNSA, DoD, national laboratories, or production agencies.
  • Experience in project management, program integration, systems engineering, acquisition support, or related disciplines.
  • Understanding of Nuclear Security Enterprise roles and responsibilities, including design and production agency interfaces.
  • Experience briefing and advising federal officials or military leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Pay Range:

Pay Range $116,350.00 - $210,325.00
