Job Summary

The Red Hat Consulting team is seeking an experienced Architect to join our Canberra, Australia office. In this pivotal role, you will lead the design and architecture of comprehensive Red Hat Infrastructure solutions and offerings for our enterprise customers. You will provide deep technical expertise in Red Hat Infrastructure technologies, including RHEL, Ansible, and Satellite, to design systems that meet the complex needs of large organisations. As an Architect, you will guide teams in the deployment, scaling, and integration of Red Hat solutions, ensuring that these are aligned with the customer’s business objectives and IT strategies.

What you will do:

  • Lead the architecture and design of comprehensive Red Hat Infrastructure solutions to support enterprise-level projects.

  • Act as a senior technical adviser and subject matter expert, providing guidance to both clients and project teams.

  • Develop high-level system architectures and work with implementation teams to ensure alignment with the business requirements.

  • Drive the adoption of Red Hat technologies through customised presentations and demonstrations to prospective customers and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to oversee the architectural aspects of deployment, integrating new technologies and ensuring the stability and scalability of solutions.

  • Lead technical discussions and workshops to improve system architectures and solve complex problems with innovative solutions.

  • Mentor junior architects and engineers, fostering a collaborative environment and building a strong technical community.

  • Contribute to thought leadership by authoring white papers, delivering speeches, and participating in conferences focused on Red Hat Infrastructure technologies.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in Red Hat technologies.

What you will bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in systems architecture with a focus on Linux-based infrastructures.

  • Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ansible Automation, and Satellite.

  • Proficiency in virtualisation technologies and modern authentication services such as IdM/IPA.

  • Strong understanding of Linux security practices and tools, with a capability to address sophisticated security requirements.

  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and leadership skills.

  • Proven ability to manage large-scale architecture projects from conception to completion.

  • Experience in scripting and automation using Python, Perl, or Shell scripts.

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification or higher preferred, or willingness to pursue certification within 90 days of commencing with Red Hat.

  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of leading technical and business discussions with senior stakeholders.

  • Australian Government security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
