Job Description

Marketing Strategist, Senior – Austin, Freemont or Portland

Description:

This Marketing Strategist position is intended for qualified candidates interested in researching customer, competitor and market dynamics to uncover TEL opportunities and gaps, facilitating TEL’s strategic growth. He/she will gather intelligence on existing and potential customers, and competitors, supporting both global and regional business goals.

The candidate should have a strong comfort level in secondary and primary research, sufficient familiarity in semiconductor, photonics or optical device manufacturing technology and market landscape, be a natural question asker, be able to analyze complex data to provide comprehensive summaries to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze current and emerging markets to determine new business opportunities.
  • Understand internal tool capabilities to align business opportunities with specific TEL tool strategy.
  • Track competitor technology trends, assesses market penetration and product positioning to drive competitive advantage
  • Provide reports to management and internal support teams to update latest market analysis for strategy discussions.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing groups, along with other functional areas, to identify and pitch new business opportunities.
  • Manage projects to align multiple resources to achieve targets and meet established timelines.
  • Work with cross functional stakeholders and across multiple levels in the organization on strategic projects.
  • Communicate verbally and in written form to summarize analysis insights and recommendations to influence and align on strategy and customer interactions.
  • Self-manages multiple, complex, long-term projects by creating project tracking documentation, organizing meetings and performing project management tasks.

Required Skills and Education

BS or MS with more than 10 years of experience in semiconductor or photonic development and manufacturing. Degree in MsE, EE, ChemE, or other related field.

  • Proficient in secondary research using data aggregation/analysis tools including patents, and other digital platforms.
  • Knowledge on the fundamentals of semiconductor and/or photonic device fabrication and customer integration requirements.
  • Driven, independent and self-motivated, ability to learn new technology and business topics quickly. 
  • Strong communications skills, both verbally and written.
  • Pro-active in staying current on industry trends and inflexion points.
  • Strong compliance with company’s confidential information handling, ethical and legal research guidelines.
