The main purpose of the role is to drive successfully the required sales growth and delivery of business plan in support of Astron Energy’s objectives. The STL’s role will be to manage, coach and develop a team of Account Managers whilst driving the implementation of the channel and customer strategy. New business development capabilities will be critical in the role. The STL will additionally be overseeing business transformation initiatives that will be driving the company’s growth agenda, which will require a great deal of change management.
- This position requires strong and visible leadership to engage Sales, Supply Chain, Credits leadership and other stakeholders to ensure seamless CVP delivery to Indirect customers.
- To manage, coach, motivate and inspire a sales team consisting of Account Managers servicing Lubricants Customer Portfolio.
- Monitors and benchmarks external trends including competitors, regulations, industry trends and structure, as well as new business opportunities.
- Accountable for achievement of financial and operational goals, and for integration of all marketing-related activities within designated territories.
- Utilize CVPs and ThinkSales techniques to achieve financial targets, and Sales & Marketing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Conducts regular Customer Contact Calls as per agreed call cycle to review, measure, report and assist C&I customers towards achieving agreed business plan targets, suggesting actions, then reporting progress and/or recommendations to National Sales Manager.
- Maximize time spent coaching and joint prospecting to develop Sales team into world class sales professionals.
- Account planning with focus on profitability at customer level, monitoring performance and agreed action plans to ensure volume and margin targets are achieved.
- Ensures consistent and disciplined execution of processes/procedures/programs and systems towards achieving business plan commitments within the sales area
Professional Qualification and Certifications:
Degree/Diploma majoring in Marketing/Sales, Commerce or Engineering
Work Experience:
At least 5 years of experience with a demonstrable track record in sales, new business development and customer management
