Red Hat Product Security is looking for a Product Security Developer to join our global Compliance Engineering team

Our Vision: 10X compliance and security activities through automation. We make existing tools easy to use and partner with product teams to build new tools that eliminate manual friction.

Our Mission: Create a strategic integration of tools and processes to enable security and compliance activities at scale—empowering a small team of doers to accomplish what has traditionally taken hundreds of manual analysts

Our Goals

  • Partner with engineering product teams and managed service teams to automate evidence collection and remediation, focusing on practical, code-based solutions for certification.
  • Lead the adoption of modern development workflows, including AI native coding, to increase the speed and reliability of our open-source security tools.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-trust environment where we prioritize shipping working software and tackling complex technical challenges as a team.

What You Will Do (Role & Expectations)

  • Design, develop, and maintain security automation solutions, moving projects rapidly from ideation through production validation.
  • Build automated evidence-gathering pipelines, ensuring Red Hat services meet rigorous standards without manual intervention.
  • Apply a "builder" mindset to create technical solutions that are user-centric, ensuring security tools are intuitive and easily integrated by product teams.
  • Take ownership of software at the component level, resolving security issues and contributing directly to upstream projects using high-velocity development practices.
  • Refine shared methodologies through GitOps and test-driven development, utilizing AI Native tools to accelerate code reviews and bug detection.
  • Share your expertise through clear technical documentation, presentations, or blogs that focus on practical implementation and automation wins.

What You Will Bring

  • Execution Orientated: Proven experience building or using tooling with a focus on clearing backlogs and shipping functional features.
  • Development Experience: Strong proficiency in a programming language. You should be comfortable writing, testing, and debugging.
  • Infrastructure & Containers: Hands-on experience with Linux and modern container technologies (Podman, Kubernetes, or OpenShift).
  • CI/CD: Solid experience using and optimizing CI/CD pipelines to ensure automated, reliable software delivery.
  • Independence: Ability to work autonomously within a distributed, multicultural team and manage a consistent cadence of contributions.
  • AI Proficiency: Familiarity with using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude,, OpenCode, Cursor) to optimize development process.
  • Open Source Contributor: A desire to contribute code and fixes directly to upstream open-source projects.
  • Pragmatic Methodology: Experience with GitOps and TDD, with an interest in evolving these workflows using new automation technologies.
  • Technical Clarity: The ability to explain complex technical implementations simply and collaborate effectively through peer code reviews.
