Position Summary
The successful candidate for the Plant Maintenance Lineman position must show the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The candidate is responsible for the construction of both aerial and buried coax, copper and fiber optic cables, according to company construction practices and procedures.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Construction, maintenance, and transferring of aerial and underground HFC, FTTH, and telephone plant
  • Competent pole and ladder climbing skills
  • Works aloft utilizing climbing gaffs, ladders, and mechanical lifts
  • Operates company vehicles and equipment including bucket trucks, forklifts, backhoes/trenchers, and other machines
  • Works outdoors in the elements
  • Reads network design prints
  • Accurately maintains daily log sheet and inventory paperwork
  • Knowledge regarding NEC construction guidelines and Armstrong construction practices
  • Follows all Armstrong safety policies
  • Maintains vehicles and machines to Armstrong standards
  • Other assigned tasks
What You’ll Need:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Must possess a positive attitude, a strong work-ethic, and a desire to learn
  • Physical capabilities including climbing, lifting, and carrying a minimum of 75 lbs.
  • Must maintain physical fitness to meet weight limit requirements for ladders and lifts and be able to meet the demands of a labor-intensive job
  • Must be able to take direction verbally and written and be able to work rapidly under time pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments and ethical decisions
  • Available to work after business hours as required, i.e. storm damage
  • Regular, punctual, and consistent attendance
  • Commercial driver’s license with appropriate endorsements preferred
  • Must possess a valid PA driver's license
