The Head of Category – Collectibles leads category strategy and execution across multiple L2 verticals within eBay Live. This role is responsible for shaping the future of live commerce categories by combining market insight, strong operational rigor, and cross-functional collaboration.
You will lead a team of Category Managers and Analysts, partner closely with teams across Finance, Programming, Marketing, Product, and Business Development, and build scalable systems that support growth. The role is accountable for category performance across GMV, ASP, retention, and value, while guiding incentive strategy, programming integration, and cross-category innovation.
Please note - this position is a 12-month fixed-term parental cover contract.
Define and implement a growth strategy for a category portfolio, with clear benchmarks for GMV, retention, and engagement
Lead annual and quarterly planning cycles and identify new category opportunities using buyer and market insights
Lead and develop a group of Category Managers and Account Specialists through clear goals, feedback, and training
Partner with cross-functional teams to plan and deliver high-impact programming, marketing campaigns, and tentpole moments
Optimize incentive strategy and budget efficiency in partnership with Finance, targeting strong return on investment
Monitor category performance in real time, lead business reviews, and scale repeatable programs and standards across regions
Experience leading category or portfolio growth strategies
Strong cross-functional leadership and ability to align diverse partners around shared goals
Financial literacy, including incentives management and return on investment analysis
People leadership experience, including mentoring and team development
Ability to analyse performance data and communicate insights clearly
Operational discipline and comfort executing in a fast paced, field-based environment
Empathy for both sellers and buyers and how category decisions affect their experience
