Coordinates incoming and outgoing movement and storage of raw materials, finished products and parts that include functions such as warehousing, shop and delivery services to ensure material availability and delivery when needed to meet production schedules | Compiles data on order volume, production schedules and forecasts and applies statistical methods to estimate future materials requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.  The following duties and responsibilities are to be performed accurately, efficiently, within company safety standards, within specified time frames and as needed.

  • Complete shipping documents (e.g. BOL's, UPS, FED EX, and other carriers) as required.
  • Download and maintain shipping systems as required (UPS systems).
  • Drive lifts and operate necessary equipment to pack, wrap and load freight.
  • Ensure all order components are loaded on the trucks with correct documentation.
  • Manage shipments. (Primetime, International, etc.) to ensure proper carriers make pickups.
  • Manage MRO shipping supply inventory.
  • Ensure all paperwork is turned in so it can be keyed out.
  • Ability to complete receiving of both direct and indirect (MRO, expense, etc.) purchase orders.
  • Ensure all material received matches the packing documents supplied.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Below are the minimum requirements for this position.

  • High School diploma or GED and one (1) year shipping experience or
  • Associate degree or six (6) months shipping experience.
  • Prefer shipping experience in a manufacturing environment.
