The Opportunity/Role 📢
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to ensure that all Extrusion Tooling is maintained and prepared to the highest standard in order to provide optimum extrusion performance.
To measure and record final tool settings to enable repeatable set-ups.
To assist in training of Production and Engineering Personnel in care and use of extrusion tooling.
To undertake, commission or supervise repair and modification of extrusion tooling and associated accessories.
Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management.
Support new project tooling from commissioning stages through to start of production and assist in tooling buyoffs and trials.
Document and update die history and record all relevant data in relation to tooling and record on the Tool Room database.
Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and carry out engineering level changes to tools and modifications.
Be actively involved in improvement activities to support the achievement of departmental and company objectives.
Ensure the optimum tool configuration is available and ready to deliver the production plan
Shift and Pay
Monday-Thursday 8am - 4:30pm and Friday 8am - 3:30pm
£43,000 per annum
Attendance bonus: £300 per quarter (subject to 100% attendance)
Requirements
Strong SHE awareness
Self-disciplined, with the ability to set and maintain high standards for self and others.
Evidenced experience of achieving production targets and assisting in the implementation of improvement plans
Ability to work effectively and build relationships in a team environment.
Work mostly independently with minimal supervision, work and liaise with a range of internal departments and external suppliers, service providers and customers utilising good effective communication across all functions.
Minimum level 3 engineering (or equivalent) with at least 3 years’ experience working in engineering environment.
Prior experience in a toolmaking role.
Ability to read and understand tooling drawings in both 2D and 3D.
Hands on experience in using machine tools (Lathe, milling, drilling, surface grinding, EDM etc.)
Experience in machine tools and tool room machines.
