About the job:

Job Purpose & Objectives

We are seeking a dynamic individual to take on the role of Vice President in Shanghai. The primary responsibilities include spearheading marketing efforts and initiating commercial activities related to Trade Finance and Transactional Banking products with onshore and offshore Chinese clients as well as MNC clients in China, with the ultimate goals of increasing revenues, enhancing profitability, and maximizing the volume of Trade Finance and Trans assets in the region.

You will be responsible to developing trade finance and transaction banking business in Asia with principal focus in China and working closely with the GCC team on global basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish a solid portfolio of trade finance and transaction banking business in China

  • Working closely with client relationship team on global basis, provide professional trade finance solutions to local clients and subsidiaries of global clients

  • Source and structure trade finance transactions with corporates and banks

  • Foster an effective partnership with other team members to provide excellent team support to our clients’ requirements in Asia

  • Conduct due diligence and monitor potential transactions

  • Prepare credit proposals to risk department 

  • Update the team and Management on any changes on the local market especially on the trade finance area and any regulations changes

Qualification & Experience

  • A university degree in business, finance or related field

  • At least 10 years solid experience in business development with a strong focus in the trade finance/ transactional banking products 

  • Strong connection in the local banking industry and leading corporates 

  • Proven business origination and structuring capabilities

  • Highly results driven

  • With trade finance experience in other Asian countries is an advantage

  • A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills and able to work under pressure

  • Able to work in a matrix reporting structure, multi-functional and cross-cultural environment

  • Excellent communications skills with fluency in English and Mandarin

  • Knowledge in ESG/green product structuring is a plus

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or above; Master’s degree is preferred.
