Position Purpose:

Responsibilities include receiving patients in the laboratory and preparing them for studies. Assists in nerve conduction
studies; collects information pertinent to the interpretation of the study. Troubleshoots EMG machines and equipment.
Attends and actively participates in continuing education endeavors.

Essential Functions:

- Performs the work duties needed to successfully complete all neurodiagnostic procedures. Successful
completion is indicated by correct procedure scheduling, recording, billing, and report distribution. Works
with supervision initially but will ultimately work independently at the completion of the training period. 50%

- Implements and follows all guidelines, protocols, and policies as directed by the department chair. 20%

- Demonstrates good communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. 20%
- Performs duties in a professional manner and communicated appropriately with co-workers. 10%

Skills:

- Medical terminology and some anatomy
- Computer skills

Certification(s) Required:

- Current American Heart Association or
- American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS).
