As a Medical Staff Office Coordinator, you will coordinate the administration of all medical staff services support activities for the medical office staff while ensuring that the needs of the medical staff are met through efficient systems and processes in compliance with applicable accreditation and government standards and requirements.  
 

A caregiver in this position works 7:30AM – 4:00PM or 8:00AM – 4:30PM and has the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule.  
 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Coordinate administrative support services for medical staff and officers, including processing of applications and appointments, orientation of new staff members and communication of information between staff departments and administration. 

  • Coordinate billing, collection and deposit of staff dues, including maintenance of related records. 

  • Assist in the preparation, organization, minutes, and follow-up for the Medical Executive Committee and other medical staff committees. 

  • Assist in the planning, preparation and execution of medical staff events and functions. 

  • Handle the maintenance of privileges and other provider related data. 

  • Utilize effective oral and written communication skills to facilitate discussions and decision making. 

  • Utilize current trends and practices in all aspects of credentialing and privilege. 


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • High school diploma or GED.  

  • Two years of direct experience in a hospital and/or managed care setting, working with multi-specialty groups and/or other integrated delivery systems or medical staff services and credentialing.  

  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, NCQA, CMS state license requirements, and other regulatory and accrediting entities. 


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Bachelor’s degree. This may substitute the experience requirement.  

  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification by the National Association Medical Staff Services.

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
