The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Data Engineer to join our People Analytics team and play a key role in crafting the future of our HR & Communications (HRC) data strategy. We are looking for someone with experience modeling data from various sources for use by other members on the team for visualization or sophisticated analytics. Ideally, the candidate would have experience using cloud platforms such as Azure. This role will be an excellent opportunity to partner with Corporate Advanced Analytics teams to drive data solutions for partners across HR and the business.


Responsibilities

  • Design and implement efficient data structures and relationships to support reporting and sophisticated analytics.

  • Develop and optimize ETL processes to prepare and transform raw data for analysis.

  • Collaborate with partner teams to understand data requirements and ensure data quality and accuracy.

  • Partner closely with Corporate Advanced Analytics teams to produce data solutions for partners.

  • Stay abreast of industry standard methodologies to continuously improve our team’s capabilities.

What we are looking for

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Data Science, Math, Statistics, etc.)

  • Excellent data wrangling, data preprocessing, and data visualization skills

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL

  • Hands-on experience with big data and cloud environment; Azure cloud platform and Azure services such as Azure Databricks (Azure certifications is a plus)

  • Understanding of data modeling concepts to craft efficient data structures

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Familiarity with HR systems like Workday or other HR management platforms is a plus

Salary range is expected to be between

$74,270.00 CAD - $137,930.00 CAD
