Summary

The OCI Cloud Engineer is responsible for provisioning, configuring, monitoring, and supporting Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments for enterprise workloads including Oracle SaaS ERP, Oracle PaaS solutions (OIC, APEX, VBCS), and custom applications. The role supports infrastructure deployment, connectivity, automation, and day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Provisioning & Support

• Deploy and manage OCI services including Compute, Block/Object Storage, Load Balancers, Bastion Hosts, and Database Services (ADW/ATP)
• Set up VCNs, subnets, security lists, routing tables, and internet/NAT gateways

Monitoring & Operations

• Monitor system health using OCI Monitoring, Logging, Alarms, and Notifications
• Implement and manage backup, patching, and DR activities

Security & Access Control

• Configure IAM policies, groups, dynamic groups, and custom roles in OCI
• Support compliance with enterprise security standards and cloud governance policies

Automation & Scripting

• Write and maintain scripts using OCI CLI, Terraform, or Shell/Python for infrastructure automation •
• Assist in building infrastructure-as-code and DevOps pipelines

Connectivity & Integration •

• Set up secure connectivity with Oracle SaaS using VCN Peering, FastConnect, or VPN •
• Support OIC and third-party integration deployments in OCI environments

Troubleshooting & Incident Management •

• Investigate and resolve issues related to OCI services, network latency, and access control •
• Work with Oracle Support for SR resolution, escalations, and patch coordination

Requirements & Preferred experience

• 3–6 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, with at least 1–2 years on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Solid hands-on experience with networking, compute, storage, and IAM on OCI
• Knowledge of Oracle SaaS/PaaS deployment architectures and OCI-native tools
• Familiarity with Terraform, OCI CLI, Git, and basic CI/CD operations
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or equivalent
• OCI Foundations or Architect Associate certification
• Experience in managing Dev/Test/Prod environments for ERP/PaaS workloads
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud connectivity (VPN/FastConnect), ADW, and OIC deployments
• Exposure to incident response, cloud cost monitoring, and tagging standard
• Fluent in Dutch, English and French is a plus
• Able to work 2-3 days onsite at the office in Brussel
