Dialysis Technicians provide essential care to patients undergoing dialysis treatments. They prepare and maintain dialysis equipment, monitor patients during treatment, and ensure procedures are carried out safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set Up and Operate Dialysis Machines:

    • Prepare dialysis equipment and supplies.
    • Set up, operate, and monitor dialysis machines during patient treatments.
    • Perform regular maintenance and calibration of equipment.
  • Patient Care:

    • Assess patient condition before, during, and after dialysis treatment.
    • Insert needles into fistulas or grafts for dialysis access.
    • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and report changes to nursing or medical staff.
    • Provide support and reassurance to patients during treatments.
  • Safety and Compliance:

    • Follow protocols to ensure patient safety and prevent infection.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
    • Adhere to all regulatory and institutional policies and procedures.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping:

    • Record patient information, treatment parameters, and outcomes.
    • Ensure accurate and complete documentation in patient records.
    • Report any equipment malfunctions or patient issues promptly.
  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with nephrologists, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
    • Participate in patient care meetings and discussions.
    • Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment processes and outcomes.
