Job Description

About the Role

  • We are seeking an S&OP Planning & Optimization Analyst to help shape the next generation of our enterprise Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. This role sits at the intersection of planning, data, technology, and cross-functional decision-making, helping transition our organization from manual, fragmented planning processes to a system-driven, scenario-based planning environment.

  • You will partner with teams across Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Finance to define planning logic, design and evaluate scenarios, ensure data alignment, and support the development of a new S&OP technology platform. This is a unique opportunity to influence how a Fortune 100 manufacturer plans demand and supply at scale—improving transparency, speed, customer satisfaction, schedule stability, and operational execution.

    • Partner with business owners to define assumptions, planning logic, constraints, metrics, and decision rules.
    • Translate S&OP inputs—forecast signals, capacity limits, configuration-level content, operational constraints—into structured scenario definitions.
    • Build and evaluate scenario models that test “what-if” business conditions, identify tradeoffs, and quantify impacts.

  • Cross-Functional Alignment
    • Serve as a connector across Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Product, and Finance.
    • Facilitate working sessions to align on assumptions, scenario differences, and enterprise-optimized outcomes.
    • Maintain governance and structure of recurring S&OP planning cycles.

  • Data, Tools & System Enablement
    • Contribute to the implementation of a new enterprise S&OP planning platform.
    • Translate business process needs into functional requirements for internal IT functions as well as external software vendors.
    • Assist with testing new system capabilities including scenario creation, variance reporting, forecasting comparisons, and automated recommendation logic.
    • Enable seamless data exchange with upstream and downstream systems.

  • Analytics, Reporting & Insight
    • Develop analytics that measure scenario performance.
    • Use structured decision-making frameworks such as AHP.
    • Prepare clear, executive-ready summaries of scenario insights.
    • Build reporting via Excel, BI tools, or system outputs.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years relevant experience in S&OP, Supply Chain, Scheduling or data science experience
  • Strong strategic agility with ability to connect data and assumptions.
  • High analytical ability and comfort with complex planning problems.
  • Cross-functional communication and facilitation experience
  • Self-starter with the ability to influence others in a direct and indirect organizational structure, and across multiple physical locations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint capability.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Experience with APS systems (Kinaxis, o9, Blue Yonder, etc.).
  • Understanding of scenario planning, constraint-based optimization, forecasting
  • Background in automotive or complex-configurable products

Experience in major tech implementations.

  • Experience with BI tools, Tableau, SQL, Databricks and/or Python
  • Knowledge of master scheduling, production sequencing, BOM, MRP, capacity planning.
