Job Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities as GDPC

  • Implements EU-General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) at European Cosma business locations (in Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Poland and Spain) through direct support from locally appointed Data Privacy Leads
  • Supports and assists management and employees with the implementation and maintenance of Data Privacy related operations (data inventories, data processing agreements, data privacy notices, consent notices, etc.)
  • Develops processes / adaption of existing processes pursuant to legal requirements
  • Evaluates and analyzes new and existing applications, processing activities and all corresponding documentation requirements
  • Reviews and identifies internal processes for gaps related to applicable laws, Magna policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • Sensitizes management and employees by promoting, creating, and delivering regular Data Privacy trainings
  • Assists divisions in the preparation and documentation of internal audits related to Data Privacy, evaluates potential findings, and provides guidance in the implementation of action plans
  • Collaborates with other GDPCs to promote innovation, efficiency, and team productivity

Key Responsibilities as RAC

  • Monitor and interpret regulatory requirements and changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Support internal teams with regulatory queries and provide guidance on applicable regulations.
  • Where applicable, assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory documents.
  • Liaise with Magna and other Magna Groups to facilitate communication and information exchange.
  • Participate in internal audits related to regulatory compliance.
  • Support training initiatives to keep staff informed of relevant regulatory updates.

Education, Knowledge, and Work Experience

  • University Degree in law or equivalent working experience (preferably in an industrial sector)
  • Expertise in data protection laws and practices, including deep understanding of GDPR and information security standards
  • Ideally certified Data Protection Officer or willingness to obtain credentials
  • Operational experience in the information technology field preferred

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Pragmatic, self-starter with strong analytical skills to identify core issues. Strong problem-solving ability to come up with practical privacy solutions that work for the business
  • Ability to build solid relationships and to influence across a diverse group of people with a wide array of privacy backgrounds, including executive management
  • Strong communication skills in English and German and the ability to communicate effectively with decision-making individuals within an organization
  • Strong project management skills
  • Must be able to travel within Europe
