Are you an experienced professional with a deep understanding of credit risk and a passion for data analytics? Join our dynamic team as a Senior Manager,Credit Portfolio Management and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our bank’s loan portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Analysis: Analyze the bank’s loan portfolio to identify key risk drivers and forecast future trends.

- Stakeholder Communication: Respond to inquiries about the loan portfolio, communicating key messages and themes effectively.

- Risk Assessment: Conduct portfolio reviews to assess risk concentrations and their implications.

What We’re Looking For:
- Proficiency in data analytics and working with large data sets.

- Strong communication skills to translate complex data into business insights.

-  Expertise in Credit Risk: Deep understanding of credit risk and experience in credit risk analytics.

- Quantitative Skills: Ability to work with and interpret large data sets; experience with data querying is a plus.

- Communication and Relationship Management: Excellent skills to convey complex quantitative findings and manage relationships to influence change.

- Independence: Ability to work independently and lead activities.

This position is located in Toronto and offers a hybrid work arrangement with at least 2 days per week designated for in-office collaboration, while other days remote.

Supports the execution of accurate and efficient reporting solutions for risk, regulatory and management information to internal and external stakeholders including regulatory bodies. Supports an efficient and effective risk management function which uses common information sources and practices, reduces ongoing costs, increases service level performance and minimizes risk.

  • Fosters a culture aligned to BMO purpose, values and strategy and role models BMO values and behaviours in all that they do.

  • Regularly connects work to BMO's purpose, sets inspirational goals, defines clear expected outcomes, and ensures clear accountability for follow through.

  • Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports to assess designated portfolio of focus.

  • Designs, develops, and implements analytics to meet management and other key stakeholder needs.

  • Analyses data and information to provide risk-related insights and recommendations for the assigned portfolio e.g. rating agency reviews, quarter end credit risk prep, concentration management reviews, etc.

  • Drives development of key analytics for decision useful information.

  • Works with various data owners to discover and select available data sources from internal sources and external vendors (e.g. lending system, payment system, external credit rating system) to fulfill analytical needs.

  • Provides strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor.

  • Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group.

  • Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.

  • Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives.

  • Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.

  • Recommends business priorities, advises on resource requirements and develops roadmap for strategic execution.

  • Manages resources and leads the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals.

  • Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.

  • Acts as the prime subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders.

  • Supports development and execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.

  • Supports the maintenance of operational procedures and processes related to analytical processes.

  • Organizes work information to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.

  • Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.

  • Implements changes in response to shifting trends.

  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

    Qualifications:

  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • In-depth/expert knowledge of risk management metrics, KPIs and KRIs.

  • In-depth/expert knowledge of industry trends.

  • In-depth/expert product knowledge for the designated business/portfolio.

  • In-depth/expert knowledge of risk management theory, processes and portfolio management techniques.

  • In-depth/expert knowledge of reporting & analytics concepts and applications.

  • In-depth/expert knowledge of risk systems technology.

  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.

  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.

  • Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth / Expert.

  • Influence skills - In-depth / Expert.

  • Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration - In-depth / Expert.

Salary:

$84,000.00 - $156,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
