Physical Therapist Clinical Specialist – Outpatient Therapy- Adults

At NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist, our Physical Therapists use advanced technology and best-practice techniques to restore and maximize patient mobility. We provide one-on-one therapies that are tailored to meet the individual needs of our patients.

As the Clinical Specialist for our outpatient therapy department, you will be a clinical resource for a team of Physical Therapists, fostering an environment of engagement and professional development. You will evaluate and treat patients independently as well as co-treat with therapy staff to foster clinical development. In collaboration with the Physical Therapy Supervisor, you will:

  • Assist in the clinical orientation and ongoing clinical development of staff physical therapists in the outpatient therapy department.
  • Demonstrate advanced skills and participate in continuous clinical self-development. Serve as a clinical resource to staff therapists and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Contribute towards the educational in-servicing of the Rehabilitation Department and participate in community outreach activities.
  • Assist in ongoing program development for the outpatient therapy service.


This position is a full time, day position Monday – Friday 8:30-4:30pm, with weekend and holiday commitments. This position is located at our NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist location.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy
  • APTA Specialist Certification (ABPTS)
  • American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) membership

Required Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy
  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a Physical Therapist
  • One year of experience practicing in the outpatient therapy setting
  • New York State Physical Therapist License
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association

Salary Range:

$112,000-$152,000/Annual
