The Utility / Vacation Relief Operator will be trained to operate our state-of-the-art plant-based protein facility. This position requires highly adaptable people who take pride in doing an excellent job. Candidates are required to be computer literate, able to develop and apply mechanical/problem-solving skills, read and write in English, and work in a team environment with little supervision.

What you will do: 

• Demonstrate leadership in safety by following site rules and promoting a zero-injury culture. Safely operate vehicles and equipment, solve problems independently, and work with minimal supervision.

• Support plant safety initiatives, including regular safety walks and audits.

• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, food safety, GMP, ISO, and regulatory standards.

• Operate and understand all production jobs, including CIP, boilers, water systems, and chemical processes.

• Provide vacation and absence relief for other operators across the plant.

• Perform general cleaning, lab sampling, testing, and accurate recordkeeping of production data.

• Fully understand the process and know how to operate every production job, including CIP operation, water softeners, boilers, wastewater, and chemical dilution systems.

What you will bring: 

• High School diploma or equivalent required; prior manufacturing and material handling experience is a plus.

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced, continuously operating facility with changing priorities.

• Strong teamwork, communication, and decision-making skills, with a positive attitude and reliable attendance.

• Mechanical aptitude with basic computer, math, and tool-handling skills; willing to cross-train in various roles.

• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights or in confined spaces, and perform tasks in hot/wet environments while wearing PPE.

Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).
