Position Summary
The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Operations is a key leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring the efficiency and well-being of teams across all regions, and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Chief Operations Office Operations, the SVP oversees the strategic and tactical aspects of unit maintenance, operational efficiency, and compliance with the company's 98% mechanical availability guarantee. This role demands a dynamic leader with deep industry expertise and a passion for fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Define and execute the long-term vision for operations, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry best practices.
Build, mentor, and empower high-performing leadership teams to drive operational success and employee well-being across all regions.
Oversee the development and implementation of strategies to optimize unit performance, streamline processes, and achieve the 98% mechanical availability guarantee.
Champion a culture of safety, ensuring all operational activities meet or exceed HSE standards and regulatory requirements.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring exceptional service delivery and proactive issue resolution.
Partner with other senior leaders to integrate operations seamlessly with sales, finance, and engineering teams.
Leverage advanced analytics to monitor key performance metrics, identify trends, and make informed decisions to enhance operational efficiency.
Oversee the allocation and maintenance of equipment, tools, and vehicles to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency.
Provide strategic oversight and rapid response to operational disruptions, ensuring minimal impact on customer commitments.
Deliver comprehensive reports and actionable insights to executive leadership, highlighting opportunities for improvement and growth.
Education & Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
Work Experience
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in natural gas compression, operations management, or a related field.
Proven experience leading large teams in a high-demand, technical environment.
Skills & Abilities
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively engage with customers, stakeholders, and team members.
Strong business acumen with the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans
Deep technical understanding of mechanical systems and operational processes
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data analysis tools
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, especially in high-pressure situations
Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands effectively
Proficiency in Power BI for creating dashboards, visualizing data, and generating actionable insights
Physical Demands
Ability to work extended hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Capable of lifting over 50 lbs and performing physical tasks such as standing, walking on uneven terrain, climbing ladders, and stooping.
Comfortable working in extreme temperatures, variable weather conditions, and high-noise environments.
Must adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment.
