About the team + role

The Backend Platform team's mission is to enable fast, safe, and delightful backend development at scale.

As Engineering Manager, you will own day-to-day operations, help the engineers on your team grow their careers, and be responsible for setting the holistic direction of backend engineering at Robinhood.

As an Engineering Manager, you will work with your team to:

  • Develop on reliable, scalable platforms and client libraries for Robinhood backend services
  • Manage dependencies and builds for backend ecosystems
  • Build frameworks and tools to empower delightful and productive workflows

You will work on

  • Support engineers in their professional growth with clear feedback and grow engineering leaders.
  • Ensure high technical standards by instituting processes (design reviews, testing) and culture (engineering excellence).
  • Build partnerships and collaborate across organizations to drive execution efficiently.
  • Prioritize and implement impactful initiatives to empower Robinhood's 500+ backend engineers.

What you will bring

  • Experience in leading engineering teams in solving sophisticated problems.
  • A strong backend engineering technical background.
  • Strong communication skills; clarity of thought.
  • Strong partnership building skills.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan.
