Role Definition
Leads team supporting operations and manufacturing processes for continuous improvement, develops tooling and tool design, and equipment needed to successfully and economically produce assigned parts/products in accordance with engineering specifications and assures efficiency.
Responsibilities
• Overseeing manufacturing engineering teams and developing/training the personnel that perform and support the plant operating functions to assign the right talent to the processes
• Leading tool design, assembly, manufacturing processing, cost estimating, systems planning, layout, standards, releasing, manufacturing space optimization, etc.
• Managing development, implementation and continual improvement of the operating methods, equipment, systems and other operating infrastructure used to realize operating goals and objectives linked to the corporate KPI’s.
• Leading the installation of new machines and equipment and process changes to provide the most efficient and economical manufacture or assembly of quality parts in a challenging timeline.
Degree Requirement
Degree in Mechanical engineering or Industrial & systems
Master Degree in Quality and Productivity Systems or in Engineering Management (partially completed or completed)

• Collects and collates key elements of demand chain used in developing capacity requirements to create alignment between demand and capacity
• Knowledge in supplier development for product localization
• Experience leading teams of at least 8 administrative employees
Lean Manufacturing:
• Manages the adoption of lean manufacturing principles across the organization by workcenter or product process
• Teaches others about how lean approach integrates operations, customers, logistics and product development in the facility
• Consults on work cell design and plan layout in support of lean principles for process optimization
• Trains others on key lean measurements and tools and techniques for measuring performance to apply solutions and corrective actions
• Participates in detailed planning for implementing and monitoring lean manufacturing and right capacity planning
Manufacturing Equipment:
• Performs routine maintenance: cleaning, replacing defective or worn parts and defines autonomous maintenance routines
• Performs basic care and safety considerations for a specific type of manufacturing equipment and document recommended actions in the SFMEA’s
• Participates in setting up new machines and testing according to manufacturer's and product specifications
• Uses standard diagnostic tools and techniques; resolves common problems by process in the facility
• Conducts routine inspections; checks machine performance and equipment safeguards; reports standards violations using statistical process control and other techniques
• Advanced experience in CNC programs development
• Wide knowledge in torque application
Manufacturing Processes:
• Advises others using industry experience and benchmarks for methodology effectiveness across the organization
• Develops best practices documentation for all major activities and tasks in the ETQ system
• Trains others on all major tasks and considerations for the full manufacturing processes and document them in Manufacturing Engineers SWS
• Participates in measuring and monitoring new processes and technologies for processes improvement
• Evaluates benefits, drawbacks and appropriateness of alternative processes and technologies to avoid lack of capacity and capability in the facility
• Advanced experience in assembly processes
• Experience Lay out and footprint development
• Capacity analysis and VSM development
Manufacturing Safety:
• Consults on the use of new tools and techniques for safety protection to develop safer processes and methods
• Performs safety inspections to assure compliance with OSHA requirements documented in the SFMEA’s
• Designs and implements emergency response and troubleshooting processes for the different manufacturing processes
• Promotes workplace safety among supervisors and workers; communicates safety rules and regulations documented in SFMEA’s
• Assesses and reports unusual or new safety hazards or violations; initiates corrective action through problem solving techniques
• Experience in SFMEA and PFMEA to improve safety and process execution
Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies:
• Contributes to the development and implementation of specific manufacturing procedures documented in the ETQ system
• Explains the rationale for procedures and standards in own area of responsibility and make sure those are documented on the ETQ system
• Participates in the implementation of manufacturing standards and procedures to the different processes within the facility
• Provides feedback for improvement of procedures and create solutions to keep continuous improvement
• GD&T and APQP strong knowledge
• ISO 9001:2015 experience
• NPI / NSI launch and development
• RIW / Kaizen experience to launch cycle time improvements and elimination of bottlenecks within the facility
• Machine technology renovation
