As a member of Global Supply Manufacturing Footwear (GSM FW), Manufacturing & Engineering team, you will be reporting to Manager, Manufacturing Engineer Global – Converse. You will partner with Footwear Manufacturing Systems Engineering and manufacturing factory teams, which are located in Semarang, Indonesia to evaluate effectiveness of global strategic initiatives. Your key partners also included Product Creation team to ensure manufacturability and process efficiency is addressed at early stages, partner manufacturing team to assure factory process against Converse strategic goals and adherence to Converse’s manufacturing and quality standards, as well as monitor & track operations at manufacturing sites to ensure alignment with Manufacturing Partner and Converse strategies. You will also work with Chemical Engineer and Modernization team to validate and execute chemical system/construction for the best of quality & provide footwear expertise to scale new capabilities and innovations at the factory level. You will together with functional engineering team to support Standardization Project/Best Practice and World Headquarters (WHQ) Product Integrity (PI) Claim resolution and Root cause analysis (RCA). Finally, your collaboration with Manufacturing & Engineering leadership and factory teams to support correct application of standardized best practices at factory workshop floor and develop future-ready skills and competencies on the Converse Footwear and Partner Manufacturing teams.
We’re looking for Senior Manufacturing Engineer Global – Converse, who committed to delivering excellence to our product teams and consumers every day. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to implement strategic initiatives, ensure process efficiency, uphold quality standards, and drive innovation, standardization, and skill development across Converse footwear manufacturing operations.
Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
In-depth knowledge of footwear constructions, tooling, materials, manufacture processes and systems.
Demonstrate ability to lead and influence business partners and stakeholders.
Strategic thinker and program manager with track record of delivering.
Pursue innovative solutions to problems; Proactively seeks diversity of inputs and potential solutions; Consistently challenges the status quo and thinks beyond traditional solutions and approaches.
Understands the use of data and application of statistical methods and tools.
Proficient in English skills, both written and verbal.
Product Engineering skills & Product Development skills are the plus.
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer on the GSM FW Manufacturing & Engineering team, you will work closely with teams across the enterprise - Product Creation, Functional Engineering team, Tooling Engineer, Chemical Engineering, Modernization, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Planning and our Manufacturing Partners.
You will be responsible for managing commercialization and driving engineering solutions to support manufacturing operations.
You will ensure factory operational processes are effective, efficient, and aligned with Converse standards & expectations.
You will oversee processes to ensure visibility and control of factory performance across. Product & Chemical Engineering, Quality, Sustainable Manufacturing, and Planning functions.
Your role will conduct data analysis and develop actionable plans to resolve issues effectively.
You will develop plans with factory to drive focused factory performance improvement, cost reduction and implement key Converse initiatives.
As part of the role, you will participate in cross-functional discussions and initiatives, ensure goals and development processes evolve to reflect best practices.
You will partner with factory teams to enhance the overall effectiveness of manufacturing systems, deliver high-quality products, on-time and at cost to our consumers.
Additionally, you will drive operational excellence, ensure the adherence of standards and best practices, and take accountability for measuring and driving progress against Converse’s strategic initiatives, as well as strive to enable world-class manufacturing systems to produce the world's best products.
