Position will require working individually or with a small team of Welders, Fabricators, Designers, Engineers, and Mechanics to execute customer projects.  Projects include motorsports, automotive, defense, and commercial industries.

The candidate will execute the requirements of the work orders and process material accordingly. Candidate will use drawings, specs, and/or verbal instructions as well as exercise judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals.  Candidate should have the ability to check his/her own work. Candidate must meet deadlines and document progress. Candidate must be flexible, dependable, time conscious, and be able to move from project to project with minimal supervision.  Candidate must work closely with the shop management and be able to conduct his/her day-to-day duties in a highly professional manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to all of the following:

  • Operation of all aspects of water jet machinery & software
  • Read and understand basic prints
  • Track, inventory, and organize material
  • Utilize prints to determine parts not in inventory and order material as needed
  • Nest work orders to maximize material – ability to use nesting software
  • Operation of forklift as required
  • Operation of small crane as required
  • Cleaning and organization of machine and shop space on a weekly basis
  • Conduct QC inspection of parts to ensure compliance with print and Pratt & Miller Engineering standards
    Must possess the ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • Must possess the ability and maturity to perform in a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Must be able to maintain a clean and organized work area 
  • Must work safely to comply with all business expectations
  • Problem solve and repair equipment in a timely manner
  • Manage large volumes of material and determine efficiencies in handling and storing
  • Create efficiencies with a large volume workload and manage tight timelines

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Desired Education, Training and Experience

  • Fork Lift Certification
  • Crane Certification
     

DESIRED SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Minimum of 1 year of water jet experience
  • Microsoft Office experience – Excel, Word, Outlook, Tasks, Teams
  • Must be able to rig and move heavy structures.

  • 40 hour work week with overtime paid as worked.
  • 6:30 am work start time
