What You Will Do:
- Develop and maintain a network of stakeholders to gain input into demand planning and forecasting, assist in strategy development, advocate the use of the negotiated contracts and influence strategy implementation.
- Collaborate with the Analyst Category Management to uphold company-wide demand profiles and integrate external supply and demand Market Intelligence (MI) data.
- Interpret MI to drive category strategies and provide direction to stakeholders (i.e., raising changes in market conditions which could have an impact to cost or schedule).
- Understand the marketplace for assigned categories, including industry structure and new and non-traditional suppliers.
- Build cost models, identifying value and cost/price drivers, to build a better understanding of costs and price results during supplier negotiations.
- Apply a broad and deep subject matter knowledge in category management, market dynamics, and economic and industry trends impacting Enbridge to support the development of appropriate category strategies.
- Participate and support cross-functional teams to build comprehensive category strategies utilizing market intelligence, demand management, sustainability, supplier diversity and total cost of ownership, with follow through metrics as required to assure performance, supply continuity, and manage risk.
- Execute sourcing strategies, from proposal development and solicitation to contract negotiation, to recommending solutions and contract execution.
- Drive contract utilization with effective implementation plans, metrics and reporting.
- Lead SRM activities through the relationship lifecycle including segmentation, governance, performance management, value engineering, etc.
- Manage the supplier base, develop new suppliers, and improve and strengthen current relationships.
- Lead supplier discussions related to negotiations or issues pertaining to the contract terms. Partner with suppliers to conduct cost assessments with the goal of reducing costs and identifying improvements.
Who You Are:
- University degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering or related field with a minimum of 7 (seven) years of progressive responsibilities and related experience in SCM or Oil and Gas industry.
- Ability to research competitive intelligence.
- Develop contract negotiation plans and ensure line of sight for management throughout the process of key initiatives.
- Ability to plan and prioritize routine and ad hoc tasks to reach established objectives.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, technical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and the capability to meet deadlines independently.
- Able to work creatively and collaboratively with stakeholders and suppliers to identify innovative solutions.
- As various assignments are carried out with considerable independence, the incumbent is expected to take initiative in planning and seeking out information.
- Mastery of negotiation, negotiation planning and influence techniques.
- Writing skills for contractual clauses and statements of work.
- Proven ability to build relationships and buy-in with stakeholders as a trusted advisor.
- Experience leading negotiations with incumbent and potential suppliers; experience leading the supplier selection process across multiple subsets of the category with various scopes and client stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative, take initiative, lead and manage change.
- Ability to monitor and manage supplier relationships and performance without supervision.
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) / Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation or equivalent is an asset.
Working Conditions:
- Typical office environment.
- Stress levels can be above normal as the work is highly visible and deadline oriented. Numerous, often competing interests must be managed concurrently while negotiating/influencing.
- Minimal travel required, e.g., project sites, domestic and foreign suppliers, warehouses, Enbridge locations, occasionally requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
