• A Senior Web3 Infrastructure Engineer must be a perfect mix of DevOps and Web3 Infrastructure (Blockchain networks and nodes). The successful candidate will be part of the core team building and managing Citi Integrated Digital Assets Platform (CIDAP). The ideal candidate will be a technical hands-on engineer, self-taught, self-driven, proactive and resourceful team player who can comfortably work with a large team of highly motivated individuals within Citi.

  We are looking for a candidate with vast experience and expertise launching, running and maintaining nodes from public blockchain networks, and launching, running and maintaining a full private blockchain network. A successful individual must have a significant amount of knowledge and expertise configuring and running containerized appliances, infrastructure management, infrastructure security, capacity management, and clients for blockchain networks (public and private)

  Main Responsibilities

  • To design, deploy and maintain scalable web3 infrastructure using container orchestration platforms (Openshift, Kubernetes) and container engines (Dockers, Podman)
  • To own and manage our web3 infrastructure throughout its entire lifecycle: provisioning, hardening, maintaining and supporting
  • To own and handle capacity management of our web3 infrastructure. To ensure properly scaling and sizing our infrastructure to meet requirements and needs
  • To setup, manage and operate our web3 infrastructure adhering to a 99.99% uptime, ensuring reliability, resiliency, performance and security across multiple regions and environments
  • To design, develop and maintain abstractions for upstream applications to interface with our web3 infrastructure seamlessly. This abstraction must ensure stickiness as well as properly handle and manage requests
  • To provide L3 production support and internal team support to ensure proper user and operations of our web3 infrastructure
  • Help resolve / escalate issues to successfully deliver projects on time, on budget and with quality

  Main Qualifications/ Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS or Engineering. MS or PhD in computer science, or related discipline a plus
  • 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE or Infrastructure Engineering. OnPrem or cloud infrastructure (OnPrem preferred)
  • 3 to 5 of years of experience and expertise running, managing and operating blockchain nodes and private blockchain networks (Hyperledger Besu and EVM-Compatible). Experience with Bitcoin Network is plus
  • 3 to 5 years of experience and expertise on containerization (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Dockers, Podman, Helm Charts)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience and expertise with DevSecOps and Infrastructure Security (TLS, Secrets Management, Firewalls, SAST, etc.)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience and expertise coding and scripting (Bash, Python, Go, YAML). Terraform is a plus
  • 3 to 5 years of experience and expertise managing infrastructure in datacenters. AWS and GCP is a plus
  • 1 to 3 years of experience and expertise with configuration management and automated deployment via CI/CD Pipeline
  • 1 to 3 years of experience and expertise configuring, running and managing proxies and reverse proxies (NGINX, HAProxy, Caddy) and routing components (e.g., Application Load Balancers)
  • 1 to 3 years of experience and expertise configuring, running and managing monitoring, observability and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana)
  • Familiarity with Istio and OpenShift Service Mesh is a plus
  • Familiarity with web3 libraries like Web3J and Web3JS is a plus
  • Familiarity with common and best practices for web3 applications is a plus
  • Familiarity with Agile Methodology and Scrum is a plus
  • Familiarity with TEE, Confidential Computing and Enclave Tech is a plus

  Main Competencies/ Skills

  • Strong team player with ability to communicate to technical / non-technical stakeholders at all levels and a start-up mindset.
  • Proven history of delivering and managing high-quality, increasingly complex, enterprise-grade infrastructure.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals (testing, code reviews, code structure, readable and maintainable code).
  • Hands-on development experience as a full stack developer building enterprise-grade web applications
  • Intricate knowledge of controls for consistent deployment and management of applications using best-in-class with toolsets such as git, Jira, Jenkins, Helm Charts, etc.
