This role will cover the management of financial and non-financial risks for our

Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) in Luxembourg and the Funds under management. You will report to the Conducting Officer responsible for the Risk Management Function and cover several strategies including Real Estate, Private Equity and Private Credit.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Risk Analyst?

  • Develop, review, and enhance internal policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure adherence to risk management best practices, regulatory standards, and internal control objectives.

  • Develop and implement sustainability risk / adverse impact related indicators, measurement methods and risk profiling processes for illiquid alternative asset classes.

  • Contribute to the integration of Climate Risk and Sustainability Risk in the Risk Management Framework for illiquid Investment Strategies

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and propose strategies to mitigate risks.

  • Conduct periodic portfolio reviews, model validation, policy update, procedure enhancement and risk reporting.

  • Design and execute testing procedures to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, identifying deficiencies and areas for improvement. Develop monitoring mechanisms to track and report on performance.

  • Evolve risk models and procedures to adapt to new laws and regulations.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance controls, and optimize operational efficiencies through the implementation of innovative solutions and best practices.

  • Collaborate with internal and external audit teams to facilitate audit planning, provide documentation and evidence as required, and address any findings or recommendations from audit activities.

  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees on risk management, risk control policies, procedures, and compliance requirements, fostering a culture of accountability and integrity throughout the organization.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in economics, financial, or quantitative fields.

  • Minimum 3-4 years’ professional experience in the fund industry as Risk Analyst or similar role in Luxembourg or Ireland.

Core Competences

  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements of Luxembourg and EU and industry standards.

  • Sound knowledge of core risk management concepts, asset management and the regulatory framework.

  • Technical knowledge of financial markets, valuation methodologies and risk models (e.g., DCF, Multiple Approach, VaR, and stress testing)

  • Understanding of key drivers of alternative asset classes with a focus on Real Estate, Private Equity and Private Credit.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate complex topics proactively and effectively facilitating decision making.

  • Strong team player, pro-active attitude, and high level of initiative

  • Excellent written and spoken skills in English. French would be an asset.

  • Good knowledge of general office applications and data analysis tools (PowerBI, eFront, Aladdin)

  • Industry certifications are a plus (e.g., CFA, FRM, CAIA)
