Linklaters is a leading international law firm, with 30 offices in 20 countries worldwide. Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair, and open atmosphere.
We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common goal.
Linklaters specialises in advising the world’s leading companies, financial institutions and governments on their most challenging transactions and assignments. With offices in major business and financial centres, we deliver an outstanding service to our clients anywhere in the world. The structured finance group (SFG) is part of our market-leading capital markets practice.
SFG is a unique group which combines skill sets from securitisation, capital markets, banking, derivatives, and insolvency practices to be able to deliver for our clients on some of the most innovative, complex, and high-profile transactions in the UK and Europe. This is not a commoditised securitisation practice; it is a cutting-edge finance group offering an unrivalled opportunity for outstanding lawyers to build their CV with the transactions that make the front page of the newspapers.
Recent examples include advising Thames Water on its £20bn balance-sheet re-structuring and strategic transformation; advising Cerberus on the acquisition from Intrum and subsequent financing of over 10,000 loan portfolios across 13 European jurisdictions (one of the largest non-performing exposure acquisitions and financings of all time); and advising Ferovinum on the first ever asset-backed securitisation of wine and spirits inventory and receivables.
We are seeking outstanding lawyers from finance or corporate backgrounds who have the talent, flexibility and passion to join this cutting-edge practice and to structure and deliver more firsts for our clients. The London SFG team is made up of 10 partners, 4 counsel and c.50 associates and trainees. The team is consistently ranked Band 1 by Chambers and Legal500.
You will be based in, and support, our London structured finance practice, and be part of the firm's capital markets team, gaining exposure to transactions with clients across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.
You will receive support and supervision on your work from the partners, as well as training on all aspects of financing developments from our dedicated knowledge team.
This is an excellent opportunity to do cutting-edge and innovative work within a market leading practice. You will be encouraged to be in direct contact with clients from day one, and to assist in building and developing the strong relationships that the team has with leading corporates, banks and financial sponsors.
We are a friendly, informal practice and are committed to providing you with the support and training you need to maximise your potential.
We place great value on working as a team in a positive, supportive, fair and open working environment. We respect and value difference and insist on inclusivity, celebrating all aspects of diversity because we want everyone to feel that they belong.
You will be challenged, mentored and supported in the development of your career and given access to professional learning and skills-based programmes aimed at providing you with the tools to meet your career ambitions.
