This Position reports to:

R&D Team Lead


 

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB’s success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.

This role is contributing to the Motion Business High Power Division in Bangalore, India

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Writing and updating user manuals in a content management system. The readers are design engineers and technicians, typically in the field of electrical engineering and automation. 
  • Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of technical documentation within the scope of ownership. 
  • Working closely with other technical writers to develop and maintain department-specific processes and procedures. 
  • Working independently to gather information and data needed for documentation, by actively collaborating with other technical writers, technical managers, developers, testers, technical support, teams in the field, and so on. 
  • Gaining product knowledge, remaining composed, and performing quality work under the pressure of deadlines where product changes are ongoing.

Qualifications for the role:

  • University or college degree from a relevant field.
  • Fluent in written English (CEFR B1 or higher). 
  • Knowledge of basic technical writing conventions. 
  • Technical orientation. You are interested in engineering and technology in general, and understand what information is essential to the user. 
  • Excellent cooperation skills. 
  • We also value experience or knowledge of modern user documentation techniques, interfaces, or platforms and are interested in investigating, promoting, and implementing new ones. 
  • Ability to manage the work in a content management system is a benefit
