Reporting to the Vice President & Chief Counsel – Litigation, you will provide legal support across the full life‑cycle of litigation matters for the enterprise, offering strategic guidance, managing outside counsel, and partnering with business teams to support effective and timely resolution of disputes.
A Taste of Your Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and strategic direction to outside counsel on an assigned caseload of lawsuits, claims, and subpoenas.
- Support business partners and company witnesses through interviews, document collection, depositions, hearings, and other adversarial proceedings.
- Represent Conagra Brands in legal, administrative, and regulatory proceedings, as well as mediations, arbitration, and settlement negotiations.
- Oversee discovery processes, including e‑discovery and legal hold, and promote the evolution of tools, processes, and services.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement efforts within the litigation group.
- Counsel business partners on dispute resolution, litigation, insurance, regulatory, and risk management matters while identifying opportunities for training.
- Ensure appropriate use of company assets, including enforcement of billing guidelines and negotiation of alternative fee arrangements.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners, the litigation team, legal department colleagues, and external partners.

Ingredients Required for Your Success
- Licensed attorney with at least four years of litigation experience in a law firm or corporate litigation department. Licensed in the State of Illinois or qualifying for an Illinois in‑house counsel license at the time of application.
- Experience across a broad range of litigation matters, such as product liability, commercial and contract disputes, personal injury, employment, environmental, insurance coverage, and class action disputes.
- Demonstrated skill in working collaboratively, thinking critically, managing complex projects, learning new areas of law, and solving problems.
- Understanding of e‑discovery best practices; hands‑on experience with e‑discovery tools preferred.
- Comfortable working autonomously while keeping managers and business partners informed.
- High integrity, collaboration skills, and emotional intelligence.
- Skilled in managing complex projects within established budgets.
- Collaboratively influential with the confidence to raise legal perspectives and propose alternative actions.
- Professional written and oral communication skills.

Compensation:
Pay Range:$133,000-$197,000
The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
