Overview

We are seeking a proactive and strategic Junior HR Specialist to support our Senior HR Business Partner in managing and enhancing the HR needs of our client group across the region. This role will focus on talent management, performance management, and learning and development initiatives, contributing to a positive and efficient workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generalist Role:
    • Manage APAC HR policies and regulations, including time and absence management.
    • Support APAC employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
    • Assist in APAC-wide HR transformation projects and update/create policy documents.
    • Prepare and submit statutory reports to the local labor law office.
    • Oversee Japan-specific benefits and requirements, such as arranging company doctor meetings and managing related documentation, as well as invoice management.
  • Performance Management:
    • Assist the APAC HR Business Partner in talent cycle processes, including the region-specific promotion process.
    • Support performance reviews and provide analytical insights on performance metrics.
  • Talent Acquisition:
    • Collaborate with the recruitment team to support hiring talent.
    • Assist with immigration management as needed.
  • Learning and Development:
    • Identify training needs and utilize talent development resources.
    • Work with the global and APAC Talent Development teams to deliver training programs.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Certification: Health Supervisor certification is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience: Proven experience in HR, particularly in a generalist role (1-3 years preferred).
  • Skills:
    • Basic understanding of HR processes.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with a strong understanding of advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with HR software (e.g., Workday, ServiceNow) is a plus.
  • Attributes:
    • Collaborative team player.
    • Fluent in Japanese and English, proficiency in any Asian language is a plus, especially Chinese
    • Cultural sensitivity and understanding of local labor laws.
