YOUR ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative global IT Engineering Solution Architect to drive solutions for the Engineering Application Portfolio while proactively working hands-on with large-scale transformation programs. This individual will be responsible for technical application solutioning – aligned to Engineering IT strategy, roadmap, and solution delivery projects within the Concept to Design vertical. This individual will be focusing on strategy and shaping the future for the entire Engineering portfolio.

This role will interface with Business leaders, IT program managers, portfolio planners and analysts to focus on enabling OEMs to accelerate their transition to feature-rich vehicles by architecting scalable, efficient, and cost-effective solutions. A successful candidate will demonstrate a can-do attitude in a dynamic, global environment and bring with him/her a solid business-facing IT project delivery experience.

Engineering Management:

• Key focus on application solutioning for multiple technologies / applications including Product Lifecycle Management Upgrades – Teamcenter Unified Architecture, Oracle Forms/WebLogic, Siemens Capital. Experience with Microsoft Native / Azure VMWare Solution & AWS as a Cloud hosting option is preferred.
• Architect Solutions that align with Engineering requirements, industry standards, and emerging EV technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product management, manufacturing, and sales) to define system-level requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
• Aid with gap assessment between design needs and engineering applications including but not restricted to PLM & CAD systems, Custom Homegrown applications, Java based applications, etcetera
• Initiate and deliver technology evaluations and recommendations, but also partner with the different IT and Business groups to understand how future IT trends can address design needs
•  Support the IT Project Delivery Team with Engineering application and technology direction to assure that current project choices are consistent and aligned to the 5-year Engineering roadmap,
• Assist in determining industry benchmarks, best practices, and appropriate costs for engineering services by leveraging knowledge of external institutions and suppliers. Ensure that these key industry standards, trends, and tools are factored into the Engineering service offerings and support initiative roadmaps as required,
• Support Technical Services to manage budget, actuals, and forecast, to achieve the annual capital and expense spending targets

Domain knowledge:

• Experience in Siemens NX, Dassault Catia, Saber, or similar design platforms
• Working knowledge and experience in providing IT solutions within the Engineering Tower
• Knowledge and experience with Siemens Capital is a plus
• Experience working with global OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers

Operations Escalations:

• Manage operational escalations as needed with members of IT operations team.
• Provide the oversight for resolution of escalated IT issues.

YOUR BACKGROUND

Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the field of Technology, Computer Graphics, Engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience working with Mechanical and/or Electronics design
• Exposure to model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and digital twin technologies
• Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISO 26262, SAE, UL), AUTOSAR, and regulatory environments
• Experience leading design and implementation of technology solutions, strategies, and technologies
• Experience in Automotive or Manufacturing industry
• Understanding of high-voltage and low-voltage vehicle systems, EV charging technologies, and power distribution networks preferred
• Exposure to vehicle electrification programs and architecture optimization initiatives preferred
