This is an exciting opportunity to join the Transaction Monitoring and Screening Crew within the Financial Crime Domain. We are responsible for ensuring our regulatory reporting obligations are met and the monitoring of transactions are improved and enhanced to become leading practice in stopping financial crimes.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will work within a squad dedicated to define business and functional requirements around customers, transactional data with the focus around financial crime.

You will provide specialist support for projects and operations by performing extensive data profiling and analysis.

  • Ready to write, optimise and execute complex SQLs to solve core business objectives and minimise risks.

  • Constantly thinking creatively and breaking boundaries to solve complex data problems. 

We are also interested in hearing from people who

  • Are data enthusiastic in providing detailed profiling from various enterprise data platforms into data lake
  • Exposure to financial products like Retail Banking (Saving, personal lending, credit cards), Business Banking (Merchants, Lease, Lending etc) , Payments (NPP, Swift, Direct Entry, ISO framework), Institutional Banking (FX, Commodities, securities, derivatives)
  • Are reliable in building group data products or data assets from scratch, by integrating large sets of data derived from multiple product sources and channels.
  • Collaborate, co-create and contribute to building a world-class Data Engineering practice. 
  • Have experience and can be responsible for data assurance, data quality and data management. 
  • Experience in working in Agile teams, including working closely with internal business stakeholders.

Technical skills:

 We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. Experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.

  • Knowledge of Hadoop technologies, such as Apache Hive, Apache Spark.
  • Experience in building and Supporting Data pipelines.
  • Strong proficiency with complex SQL and its variation among popular databases.
  • Extensive experience with Data Integration, Data Cleaning, Query Writing, Resolving Data Issues.
  • Skilled at optimizing large and complicated SQL statements.
  • Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases.
