WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The Principal of Innovation Engagement will report directly to the Director of Innovation Engagement and partner across the AIC Portfolio and Activations team to elevate people, projects and processes from across the function in the right moments to help wire the organization for success.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We seek a Principal of Advanced Innovation Engagement to join our Advanced Innovation Collective (AIC) team. This teammate will help identify, curate and capture critical Nike innovation storytelling priorities and amplify these stories across Nike at the right moment. We expect you to bring:

  • 8+years relevant work experience in a related field
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
  • Advanced communication skills with the ability to influence multiple business partners across all levels with differing points of view.
  • Successful background working effectively in an ambiguous environment and navigating the corporate matrix.
  • Proven track record resolving complex business issues and making sound decisions.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

The Principal will work closely with AIC product innovation teams to shape and deliver AIC’s impact across internal stakeholders. This person will play a critical role in amplifying the portfolio, vision and operating model of AIC through three strategic pillars: creating pull for innovation projects, helping to preserve the intent and integrity of innovation through Nike storytelling efforts and fueling curiosity and collaboration across AIC within the function and inline partners.

PRESERVE THE INTENT AND INTEGRITY OF INNOVATION THROUGH NIKE STORYTELLING EFFORTS:

  • Contribute to the production of differentiated content that supports our focus areas and priority projects as they move through the Code spine. Partner closely with Brand, Comms, or agency partners to transition stories in meaningful ways at Innovation Launch and beyond.
  • Create compelling internal content which inspires and recognizes AIC teammates while also showing AIC’s value to downstream partners.
  • Infuse digital capabilities into storytelling opportunities using our own data, insights and tools.
  • Work alongside product innovation and sports science teams to ensure critical storytelling elements are incorporated upstream.
     

AMPLIFY THE AIC PORTFOLIO, VISION AND OP MODEL:

  • Develop and deliver engagement strategies for multiple audiences, including AIC employees, inline partners, athletes and other collaborators with regular touchpoints to AIC.
  • Manage operational processes to increase coordination and efficiency with critical downstream partners.
  • Develop cohesive and compelling case studies around the value AIC brings to the enterprise.
  • Help champion the capabilities of the AIC Engagement team while practicing strategic prioritization.

FUEL CURIOSITY AND COLLABORATION ACROSS AIC:

  • Bring outside influencers to AIC through the programming of speakers, workshops, spotlights, and share-outs that serve both new and existing initiatives.  
  • Help drive a culture of creativity and inclusion across AIC and fuel a sense of community within Innovation.
  • Evolve engagement platforms and communication channels to ensure employees are informed and inspired.
  • Provide innovation storytelling training for select AIC employees to enhance their communication skills (Innovation Storytelling Program).
