Team/Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced leader to serve as the Head of FX Product Partnerships, with a primary focus on driving strategic collaborations within our Custody FX and Cross Border Payments businesses. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the FX market, extensive experience in Custody FX and Payments, and a proven track record of success in building and scaling innovative product strategies and solutions within complex organizations. Furthermore, experience and insights into the emerging landscape of Digital Assets is a critical requirement for this role.

The Head of FX Partnerships is responsible for managing a broad range of product management employees, setting strategy and providing direction, leadership and budgetary management, etc. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the development of product plans, strategies, and tactics while coordinating product lines through product life-cycles in coordination with the broader product management team. The overall objective of this role is to formulate and drive the FX product strategy for cross border payments and custody products, to develop new markets, and increase share of market and obtain competitive position.

What you’ll do

• Strategic Partnership Development & Strategy:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive partnership product strategy for Custody FX and Cross Border FX Payments, aligning with overall business objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize commercial opportunities with corporates, financial institutions, technology providers, fintech companies, and other relevant entities.
• Product Innovation and Commercialization:
  • Collaborate with broader product development teams to design and build innovative solutions that leverage our global capabilities and address client needs.
  • Drive the build and commercialization of new solutions through effective marketing, sales enablement, and client engagement strategies.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to FX trading and partnership activities.
• Market Expertise:
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of FX market trends in cross border FX payment and custody FX, competitor activities, and emerging technologies.
  • Provide thought leadership and insights to internal stakeholders on partnership opportunities and market dynamics.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences, building relationships and promoting our partnership capabilities.
• Leadership and Team Management:
  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship.
  • Build strong multi-functional teams with deep subject matter expertise.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
  • Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support the professional development of team members
• Relationship Management:
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key partners and clients, serving as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor.
  • Partner with other global, regional, and country leaders to share best practices and drive business strategies, solutions, and client centric solutions to differentiate Citi in the marketplace and achieve substantial growth targets for the business
  • Proactively address partner needs and concerns, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and ongoing collaboration.
  • Monitor partner performance against agreed-upon metrics and identify opportunities for optimization and growth
• Digital Asset Strategy:
  • Lead the development and execution of the FX partnership strategy with respect to Digital Assets.
  • Develop and implement strategies for integrating Digital Assets into existing FX products and services, while ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory frameworks.

What we’ll need from you

• Extensive relevant experience, specifically managerial
• Experience managing across multi-function or global business
• Experience managing in a large, complex and matrixed organization
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in building best in class cross border FX payments and custody FX products.
• Knowledge of strategic direction of the business and functions across regions combined with solid conceptual/practical grounding in function and/or area of expertise
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Demonstrated internal and external negotiation skills
• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Master’s degree preferred
