Business Banking (BB) supports a diverse portfolio of customers, from SMEs through to mid-market corporates and agribusinesses, delivering tailored financial solutions that enable growth.
Within this, Business Lending (BL) is a specialist product and sales team responsible for delivering working capital solutions, asset finance, and complex lending products—while also owning Line 1 risk and controls.
The Asset Finance Corporate Origination team partners with our Major Client Group, Specialised Agribusiness and Client Acquisition teams to deliver innovative, large-scale asset finance solutions. We play a critical role in helping customers fund strategic investments in plant and equipment, while strengthening the bank’s market position.
Do work that matters
Reporting to the Lead Director, Corporate Origination, you will take ownership of originating and delivering asset finance opportunities across both new-to-bank and existing clients.
From first conversation through to funding, you’ll lead complex transactions—bringing together internal stakeholders, structuring tailored solutions, and ensuring strong risk discipline throughout.
What you’ll be responsible for
Originating and executing asset finance opportunities across large corporate clients
Building trusted relationships with C-suite stakeholders and key decision-makers
Leading complex, multi-million-dollar transactions end-to-end—from origination and credit approval through to negotiation and funding
Partnering with internal teams to drive new-to-bank opportunities and deepen existing relationships
Advising on, structuring and pricing both vanilla and structured asset finance deals
Delivering market insights and technical expertise to frontline and risk partners
Achieving new business and balance sheet growth targets
Contributing to a high-performing, nationally aligned distribution team
Supporting and mentoring junior team members
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for a commercially driven and highly credible professional who combines deep technical expertise with outstanding relationship management capabilities.
You will have:
Extensive experience in asset finance and asset-based lending
A proven track record in origination and deal execution within corporate or institutional banking
Strong relationships and networks within the market
Demonstrated ability to structure and lead complex, large-scale transactions
Highly developed financial analysis skills and the ability to assess lending risk
Confidence engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives
Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
A proactive, customer-first mindset with a strong focus on outcomes
High levels of drive, resilience, and commercial acumen
Strong technical capability across Excel, PowerPoint and financial modelling
