The Leidos Defense Sector in Beavercreek, OH is seeking a Firmware Design Engineer to join a growing, high-performance team responsible for solving some of our customers’ most challenging and interesting problems. The successful candidate will utilize their technical expertise and leadership/communication skills to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and rewarding environment. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to design and implement solutions for a variety of FPGA and DSP applications. In addition to design and implementation of firmware, you will collaborate with other engineers on related DSP and software tasks, all with the goal of making a positive impact for our customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
Review and understand current firmware designs and implementations
Modify existing and create novel firmware designs to function on new hardware systems
Define requirements for new firmware and DSP systems
Collaborate with other firmware developers to implement, improve, and validate designs
Support field test activities by operating equipment and troubleshooting issues
Basic Qualifications:
BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Experience with the following:
Verilog/VHDL
Digital Signal Processing
MATLAB, C/C++
Laboratory test equipment – Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator
Digital, analog, and radio frequency circuits
Enterprise Linux
Scripting languages
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Must be able to clearly articulate conclusions via technical reports and documents
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Secret (or higher) security clearance
Familiarity or experience with the following:
Embedded software design
Revision control (git, SVN)
Vivado/Vitis
Modelsim/Questasim
RHEL (or similar)
Open Systems Architectures
