Job Description

Your Team

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the Finance & Planning function for Canada with a focus on the Alberta/Ontario markets. The role will assist in preparing Executive and Investment Committee packages for project stage approvals, acquisitions/sales, internal/external asset valuations and other corporate finance decisions.

Key Deliverables

  • Building, updating, and maintaining financial models for project underwriting, asset valuation, acquisitions/sales and capital budgeting

  • Work with operations to ensure accuracy of model inputs including budgeting, pacing, and cash flow timing

  • Preparing sensitivity and scenario analysis as required

  • Assist other areas of the Canada finance division with business plan preparation. Areas could include our Land, Housing, and Commercial divisions

  • Assisting with Canada consolidated divisional and asset reporting, as well as generating forecasted financial statements

  • Assisting with valuation/EVA & impairment analysis

  • Preparing schedules and compiling data for various presentations and management review


Skills & Experience

  • An undergraduate degree in Commerce, Accounting/Finance, (or equivalent mix of education and experience)

  • Progress or completion of a CPA or CFA designation

  • 5+ years of related and progressive experience (Accounting, Corporate Finance/Business Development, Investment Banking/Research)

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively identify risks/issues and recommend solutions

  • Proficiency in planning/forecasting, analysis and attribution, budgeting, understanding of financial statements, and experience building and managing complex financial models
