The Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment.

The role will focus on application of smart contracts in energy applications. The Blockchain Specialist will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of the platform’s blockchain infrastructure. This includes developing smart contracts, integrating Hyperledger Fabric and Avalon frameworks, implementing TEEs for confidential execution, and ensuring secure, tamper-proof dual-hash validation. The specialist will also oversee performance, scalability, and security of on-chain and off-chain operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Hyperledger Fabric and Avalon-based smart contracts with agentic AI integration.

  • Develop dual-hash validation mechanisms to ensure ledger and off-chain data integrity.

  • Implement TEE-based off-chain computation for confidential transaction execution.

  • Integrate blockchain with IoT devices, metering systems, and energy assets for real-time settlement.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, ESG, and audit requirements.

  • Optimize scalability and throughput for multi-PPA, high-frequency settlements.

  • Collaborate with integration specialists, AI engineers, and security teams.

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.

  • Strong experience with Hyperledger Fabric, Avalon, or comparable enterprise blockchain frameworks.

  • Proficiency in smart contract development (Go, Java, or Solidity) and blockchain SDKs/APIs.

  • Hands-on experience with trusted execution environments (Intel SGX, ARM TrustZone).

  • Understanding of IoT integration, metering protocols (Modbus, MQTT), and DER operations.

  • Knowledge of cryptography, consensus algorithms, and security best practices.

  • Prior experience in energy markets or financial settlement systems is highly desirable
