Summary

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Head Cook for Legends Global/Stockton Complex. Directly responsible for all kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation, and maintenance of quality standards; sanitation and cleanliness; training of employees in methods of cooking, preparation, plate presentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the event day operation of the kitchen, coordinate food production and ensure the highest level of food quality, taste and presentation.
  • Supervises temporary labor. 
  • Fulfills the service per each Banquet Event Order (BEO).  
  • Prepare recipes as directed.  
  • Maintains all kitchen equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance.  
  • Designs buffet food presentations. 
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities    

Supervise Kitchen staff in conjunction with the Kitchen Manager.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience        

  • High School diploma or GED certificate.
  • 1 year experience in a banquet facility preparing meals for large events.
  • 1 year experience in culinary.

  • Demonstrate exceptional skills in customer relations, communications, and problem solving
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form
  • Work independently, exercising good judgment and initiative
  • Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others while working
  • Ability to work flexible hours including daytime, evening, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, lifting, stooping, and walking.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds

Computer Skills  

There are no Computer Skills that are required for the position  

Other Qualifications 

  • Food Handler’s Permit or ability to obtain one upon hire
  • Attend all Legends Global Alcohol and Policy Training Classes

Compensation

The compensation for this position is $20.00 per hour.
