The Associate Director of Global Facilities Program Management and Business Effectiveness is a member of the Global Facilities Leadership team and plays a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects across the organization

The Role

Genmab is on an exciting journey to become an integrated, end-to-end biotech innovation powerhouse. As we expand our direct commercialization efforts, we are seeking a Global Physical Security Director to develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy that protects our people and assets worldwide. This role will oversee physical security risk assessments, crisis management, and compliance with regulatory requirements while leveraging the facilities team and physical security vendors for operational support.    

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a global physical security strategy aligned with business goals for Genmab workers and facilities.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure the appropriate physical security posture across Genmab.
  • Establish global physical security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency and compliance across Genmab.
  • Oversee physical building requirements and security operations, including access control, surveillance, storage of goods, and travel security.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international security regulations.
  • Lead facility crisis management planning and emergency response strategies, ensuring business continuity and swift incident resolution.
  • Collaborate with product security and information security teams to align strategies.
  • Act as the primary liaison with law enforcement and regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Lead and develop a team of internal and external physical security resources across global locations .
  • Provide training and guidance to enhance company-wide physical security awareness and preparedness.

This position offers a hybrid work model (60-80% onsite) and flexibility in Genmab office location.

Requirements

  • A degree in Physical Security Management, Criminal Justice, or equivalent (Master’s degree or relevant certifications such as CPP, PSP preferred).
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in physical security management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industry preferred).
  • Expertise in:
    • Global physical security operations, crisis management, and risk mitigation.
    • Physical security strategy development, incident escalation, and emergency response planning.
    • Global security risks, including geopolitical, regulatory, and technological threats.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry-specific challenges, such as product security, storage of goods, and regulatory compliance (preferred).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in physical security technologies and data analytics for decision-making.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 30-50%) to oversee security operations and respond to incidents.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with global Facilities leadership to define the strategic plan, goals, budgets and workforce plans.  Run governance meetings, portfolio reviews and project reviews for the department.
  • Oversight of the Facilities project portfolio, ensuring robust project plans are developed and maintained for all key projects and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget, while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.
  • Develop systems, processes and metrics for Facilities projects/initiatives to enable project and portfolio status and analytics
  • Lead strategic projects and process improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of dynamic project management experience within a global and/or multi-site facilities environment.
  • Strong project management skills, including familiarity with PMBOK and Agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in leading diverse program activities, project management methodologies, planning software and visualization tools
  • Natural leadership abilities with flexibility, agility, and doggedness
  • A positive outlook with resilience and self-motivation to make a significant impact.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and multicultural environment.
