The use of APIs has allowed organizations to innovate faster, deliver improved customer experiences and compete in new markets. The challenge with such explosive growth of API usage is that APIs connect the world and provide access to organizations’ most sensitive data. This has left organizations trying to defend against an increasing attack surface and new attacks that have been introduced. In the last 12 months, API attacks increased in frequency by 681%.

About the role

As a Sales Engineer you’ll be a core member of Salt Security’s continued success. You’ll partner with members of the Sales Team to drive all technical aspects of the sales process. This role is a unique opportunity to introduce a truly innovative solution to organizations that are in need of a new approach to securing their APIs. 

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver product presentations and demonstrations that illustrate how Salt's API security solution addresses the critical business issues that a prospect faces
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the customer's technical staff and earn their trust & credibility through your deep technical knowledge and subject matter expertise
  • Deliver strong "proof-of-value" engagements that demonstrate business value and technical benefits
  • Work closely with the Account Executives to align the technical requirements and the solution with the customer's business drivers to demonstrate our unique value 
  • Coordinate and deliver RFP/I/Q responses and technical architecture solutions

What you should have:

  • 5 years of Presales experience selling security solutions
  • Understanding of APIs, API Gateways, microservices and cloud native technologies
  • Hands-on experience with a broad set of technologies including, but not limited to, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, and Load Balancers
  • Technical curiosity, including the willingness to learn new technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel within your region as required
  • Fluent in Potugues/English
