Responsibilities:

  • Develop and expand knowledge of financial planning, investment strategies, financial markets, and client service through hands-on experience and collaboration with planning teams and lead advisors.
  • Observe and learn advanced planning techniques to support long-term professional growth.
  • Gather, review, and analyze client financial data to support the development of comprehensive financial plans and strategies.
  • Independently complete straightforward financial planning analyses and projects with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Provide meaningful insights and observations to Lead Advisors to inform planning decisions and enhance client relationships.
  • Prepare materials and documentation for client meetings, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Participate in client meetings, document action items, and coordinate timely execution of follow-up tasks in partnership with Associate Wealth Advisors and/or Wealth Advisors.
  • Learn and effectively use financial planning software to update and revise plans and reports based on advisor feedback.
  • Utilize internal systems and technology platforms (e.g., Salesforce) to maintain accurate client records and ensure coordination across advisory and client service teams.
  • Support ongoing portfolio monitoring and account maintenance, proactively identifying and addressing action items.
  • Work with asset custodians to accurately complete and manage related paperwork and administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with advisory and client service teams to ensure all client deliverables are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Understand and apply the firm’s wealth management philosophy, planning process, and service standards.
  • Leverage internal and external resources to enhance client service and planning outcomes.
  • Attend industry and community networking events to begin building relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs) and professional peers.
  • Contribute to the development of new client proposals through research, analysis, and presentation support.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelors' degree in related field
  • CFP® certification required
  • 3-5 years’ experience 
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, investment, and client relationship skills 
  • Technology: Salesforce, Portfolio Accounting Software, DocuSign, Microsoft Suite, Planning Software 
  • Experience with custodian interaction 
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing 
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and consistency 
  • High standards of professionalism and confidentiality 
  • A proactive approach to work, with the ability to take ownership of projects and see them through to completion.

Pay Information

This position is exempt and is paid according to the laws of the State of California. The pay range for this position is $80,300-$129,500 USD per year. We are required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires the physical capabilities to work in an office environment, which may include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Corient seeks to make reasonable accommodations that enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties when possible.

  • This position may require the ability to lift up to 15 pounds.

  • This position is required to work onsite 4 days per week.

U.S. Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States. For U.S. employment opportunities, Corient hires U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Exceptions to these requirements will be determined based on shortage of qualified candidates with a particular skill. Corient will require proof of work authorization.
