Position Summary

The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and ongoing support of the firm’s enterprise infrastructure. This role covers a wide range of technologies, including Citrix (VDI and NetScaler), VMware virtualization, NetApp storage, and Active Directory. The position requires strong hands-on technical skills, the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, and a proactive approach to maintaining a secure, reliable, and high-performing environment.

The Senior Systems Engineer will work closely with other IT teams to deliver firm-wide technology initiatives, ensure system resilience, and support business operations. This role will also provide cross-training and coverage in other Systems Engineering disciplines such as load balancing, certificate management, and data protection.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and support Citrix environments, including VDI and NetScaler appliances. 

  • Manage and optimize VMware virtualization infrastructure. 

  • Administer and monitor NetApp storage systems. 

  • Maintain, secure, and optimize Active Directory environments. 

  • Perform regular system updates, patching, and configuration changes. 

  • Test and implement upgrades to maintain security, performance, and supportability. 

  • Monitor system performance dashboards, logs, and alerts. 

  • Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues. 

  • Escalate critical incidents as needed and work with vendors on resolutions. 

  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver technology projects on time and within scope. 

  • Assist with technology roadmap planning and infrastructure improvements. 

  • Maintain accurate system documentation and configuration records. 

  • Ensure compliance with security standards and policies. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree OR 7+ years of equivalent IT systems experience. 

  • 3+ years in a multi-office enterprise environment (multi-national preferred). 

  • Proven administration experience with Citrix, VMware, NetApp, and Active Directory. 

  • Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, networking, and storage fundamentals. 

  • Experience with disaster recovery solutions and high-availability systems. 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Citrix (VDI, NetScaler) administration and optimization. 

  • VMware virtualization management and troubleshooting. 

  • NetApp storage provisioning, performance tuning, and monitoring. 

  • Active Directory management, group policy, and security. 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 

  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. 

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint). 

  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python) preferred

  • Azure Active Directory administration preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange 2016–2019 and Exchange Online preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to install equipment in standard 7-foot racks or cabinets.

  • Occasional but infrequent travel may be required.
