Key Responsibilities:

  • Failure Analysis:
    • Conduct detailed failure analysis on optical systems and WSS components.
    • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and methods to isolate and identify root causes of failures.
    • Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • WSS Integration Testing:
    • Perform and support WSS integration testing, ensuring compliance with performance specifications.
    • Develop and execute test plans and protocols for WSS modules.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and address integration challenges.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging:
    • Debug hardware and software issues within optical communication systems.
    • Work closely with R&D and manufacturing teams to resolve system-level failures.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyze test data and failure trends to identify potential quality and reliability concerns.
    • Provide clear and actionable insights based on test results and failure data.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work with cross-functional teams, including design, quality assurance, and production, to implement design and process improvements.
    • Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Contribute to the development of failure analysis processes and test methodologies.
    • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance product reliability and test efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Optical Technology, Physics, or related field. Equivalent experience is acceptable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in failure analysis and WSS integration testing within the optical communications or semiconductor industry.
  • Strong understanding of optical communication systems, WSS technologies, and related testing protocols.
  • Proficiency in using test equipment such as Optical Spectrum Analyzers, Lightwave Component Analyzers, and Network Analyzers.
  • Experience with root cause analysis techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, or similar).
  • Familiarity with data acquisition tools and software for failure analysis and reporting.
