Cleveland Clinic understands that keeping up with nutritional needs is essential to staying well. As a Dietary Aide, you will help us support patients' health by ensuring proper food handling and transportation. In this role, you can gain hands-on experience in a healthcare setting, all while making a difference in the lives of patients every day. 

 

A caregiver in this position works an average of 24 hours per week, Monday-Friday, from 3:30PM – 9:00PM or 12:30PM – 9:00PM, including rotating weekends and holidays. 

 
A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Perform a variety of duties to ensure proper distribution of prepared foods to patients, cafeteria guests and catered events.  

  • Accurately set up and deliver patient trays and nourishments.  

  • Distribute correct portions of food and beverage items.  

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of specific therapeutic diets.  

  • Follow department standards and procedures.  

  • Utilize and rotate food products, appropriately store leftovers and label and date food items. 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • High School Diploma or GED 

  • Six months of experience in food service  

  • Experience working on a team 

  • Hospitality experience 

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.

  • Ability to reach with hands and arms.

  • Ability to talk and hear.

  • Frequently required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

  • Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus also required.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
