Job Description:

The Senior Director of Finance is primarily responsible for overseeing the entire company's budgeting and financial forecasting process, including developing annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and capital budgets, and monitoring financial performance against those budgets, analyzing variances, and providing strategic financial insights to senior management to inform decision-making, all while leading a team of financial professionals and collaborating with other senior leaders within the organization. Highly visible role and cross-functional role reporting directly to the CFO.


Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Lead the annual budget planning process, collaborating with all disciplines of the business to gather input and set realistic financial targets.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive budget models, allocating resources across departments and projects.
  • Monitor budget adherence, identify potential variances, and take corrective actions.
  • Oversee the long-term financial planning (including three-statement model) supporting strategic needs of the organization, including capital markets transactions.
  • Lead ongoing “real-time” forecasting process, providing timely feedback to senior leadership to react to the changing business


Capital Budgeting & Allocation:

  • Working closing with Treasury and other departmental owners, oversee our capital budgeting and cash flow modeling
  • Ensure capital projects are modeled appropriately to achieve return criteria, including new store openings, entertainment innovation, and other
  • Provide oversight to the Company’s capital allocation strategy

Cost Management:

  • Oversee appropriate reporting and analyses surrounding spend throughout the organization
  • Identify cost savings, margin drivers and other initiatives to optimize financial performance, collaboratively working with other organizational leaders.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of business units and departments, providing recommendations for improvement.

Corporate Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and present financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and financial performance analyses (including EBITDA bridges, run-rate analyses, capital structure profile, etc.) to senior leadership and the board of directors.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and provide recommendations for improvement.

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):

  • Participate in due diligence processes and provide financial insights and analysis for potential mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Collaborate with senior management, the board of directors, and external stakeholders to communicate financial performance and strategies effectively.

Industry Monitoring:

  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities and risks
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends to drive innovation and competitiveness.

Requirements:

  • BS in Finance, Economics or Accounting
  • 10+ years of experience in corporate finance, planning or analysis role
  • Proven leadership experience in driving strategic initiatives and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences, including the board of directors and the capital markets community.
  • Advanced knowledge of business principles and practices.
  • In-depth understanding of the industry and its market dynamics, particularly in a multi-unit environment
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience with Hyperion EPM is strongly desired
