Job Description Summary:

Maintains all inventory and supply items in various high volume, high cost hospital settings such as cardiac and arrhythmia labs, interventional vascular labs, surgery and distribution stockrooms and warehouses.

Responsibilities And Duties:

Responsible for the availability of routine and/or specialty procedure supplies for assigned department, accomplished through a detailed process of inventory control that includes: maintaining previously established supply par levels for each area, identifying needed items and placing the order, identifying receipt of items, verifying stock through cycle counts and annual inventories if needed. 1. Communicates items not available from the supplier to the appropriate staff in some instances, physicians will be notified d ; helps identify substitute product until original item is available. 2. Returns outdated or obsolete product for credit. 3. Times arrival of new product and replaces outdated stock without interruption in availability of supplies. 4. Maintains inventory parameters for all on-hand balances and associated data that relate to the above-named activities i.e., , par levels min/max, UOM, cycle count parameters, etc. 5. Assists in maintenance and organization of cost-effective and efficient inventory systems

Assists in monitoring and maintaining patient care equipment, including cleaning and calling for repair; manages urgent requests for patient care equipment; daily stocking and restocking all rooms with equipment and supplies. Contracts rental companies to coordinate the delivery, pickup and/or replacement of rented equipment as necessary to accommodate increased demand. Runs reports and performs daily audits; runs reports on a variety of statistical information such as return rates and average daily usage.

Performs miscellaneous related duties. Attends staff conference and staff in-services; performs other duties as assigned. Actively participates in inventory management process improvement identification and resolution and policy development. Works with customers, purchasing agents, vendors and other hospital staff and physicians.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School or GED (Required)

Additional Job Description:

Familiar with spreadsheets, databases and word processing software applications.
