About you and the role:

As an India HR Partner Leader, you play a critical role in Mumbai to deliver strategic human resources leadership and operational support across the India region. Your core focus is on partnering with internal stakeholders, including the India Leadership Team and guiding the India HR Partner Organization.  You are also expected to collaborate closely with the HR Operations Teams in both India and Netherlands as well as with the Business and Functional HR Partners around the world to support the India Capability Center.

The primary objective of this role is to drive HR initiatives, set priorities in line with overall Dow and global HR’s expectations to ensure that people practices and policies are aligned with the Company’s global goals, cultural standards and the new Labor Code for India. Your role is particularly significant as India has recently been selected as Dow’s global capability center, resulting in an increase in employees and leaders hired into Dow. You will be part of the EMEAI regional HR Leadership Team as well as the Country Leadership Team and report to the EMEAI HR Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Leadership: Work alongside key stakeholders to develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives and cultivate a high-performance culture.
  • Establish both short-term and long-term HR priorities for the country, ensuring alignment with upcoming changes in labor legislation and addressing existing challenges through clear goals and actionable plans while maintaining cost competitive country for Total Rewards and HR practices.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for leaders and managers, offering guidance on leadership development, organizational design, workforce planning and employee relations. Ensure all processes are cost-effective, efficient and aligned to global programs and policy standards.
  • Ensure the external benchmarking with other capability centers in India are regularly conducted to align market practices and retain competitiveness
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement, wellbeing and retention to foster a positive experience for employees at all levels including.
  • Ensure Dow’s Ethics and Compliance Policies are fully embedded and are well understood by the employees and leaders in the country.
  • Support and facilitate organizational change where needed to align with Transfer to Outperform Behaviors and current organizational structures in India. Ensure smooth transitions and effective communication throughout the process.
  • Ensure that HR policies and practices comply with local employment laws and global standards, reducing risk and promoting ethical conduct. Set key performance indicators (KPIs) specific to India people priorities.
  • Oversee development programs, succession planning, and leadership development for key talent pools.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or MBA in HR, Finance, Computer Science or similar.
  • At least 10 years of HR experience spread across different disciplines within HR in a multinational company, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership
  • Demonstrated success in strategic HR management with strong drive in Change Management Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws and employment regulations, or a willingness to learn.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, particularly being able to prepare and deliver agile and concise presentations
  • Capability to operate successfully in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • Demonstrates strong financial acumen and the ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing

Additional notes:

  • No relocation support is provided for this role. 
  • In a Hybrid set up a minimum of 4 days in a week the person is expected to be in office. The incumbent must reside in close proximity to the workplace, ideally within a 30–40‑minute commute.
  • The ability to accommodate flexible schedule aligned with international time Zone is essential.
